We set new goals at every stage of our lives. You see a new Calvin Klein commercial and are inspired to get that hot celebrity body. Perhaps it's seeing a good friend's new Ferrari on social media that inspires you to get one for yourself.

Every year, we set new goals for ourselves, whether it's getting that hot body or that hot car, or whatever else we want. But, let's face it, most people fall short of their objectives. You sign up for a gym membership in January, but you haven't worked out in two weeks. You buy a self-help book, but you get bored after the first chapter.

I understand how difficult it is. I personally struggled to attain the goals I set for myself when I was younger. But one day, I decided to create a 7-step plan to help me overcome my struggles and achieve all my goals. This 7-step plan is simple to follow, and I hope it helps you achieve your goals!

1) The Big Picture
Begin by visualising your intended goals. To help you visualise your goals, write/draw them all down on a piece of paper. I created a Pinterest folder for all of the photos of my dream houses and dream cars. You are free to do whatever you want to help you visualise your goals.

2) Your Why
Assess why you want to fulfil your goal. Your "Why" will determine how much sacrifice you're ready to make to achieve your goal. You're on the right track if that goal is so pertinent that you're willing to devote your time and energy to achieve it.

3) Break It Down
Your goals will often appear to be too lofty or out of reach. When your goals seem to be unattainable, it can be demotivating. Hence, it is vital to break down your goals into practical, attainable, measurable, and smart actions. Breaking down your goals will provide you with a clear roadmap to achieving them.

4) Forming the Habit
It's time to form your habits after you've finished breaking down your goals into actionable steps. This is probably the most difficult step because developing these habits will require a great deal of discipline and focus. Begin by incorporating one new habit into your life at a time. When you're ready and comfortable, gradually form newer habits. Remember that consistency is key!

5) Reasons for Failure
Make a list of the possible reasons why you will fail to accomplish your goals. What are the potential roadblocks to your progression? By listing all of the potential roadblocks to your progress, you are mentally prepared to deal with them when they arise.

6) A-Team
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." Remember that you cannot accomplish your goals on your own. Create your personal A-Team. People you have belief in to help you achieve your goals.

7) Take Action
Now that your roadmap is clear and your plans are all written up, it's time for the most important step. Action. "Action is the foundational key to all success." - Pablo Picasso. The hard work begins now.
